Holland Park Quiet Garden
A secret quiet space
During the pandemic our London parks were very popular places for people to get out and exercise. There’s never been a more telling time to experience the importance of our public spaces for people’s well-being. Holland Park is one of these spaces and even more crowded than usual.
The Friends of the Park and the Borough of Kensington & Chelsea identified a need for a quiet space, especially for children who might need time out and some peace from a busy and noisy larger park. Fisher Tomlin & Bowyer were asked to apply our knowledge of therapeutic garden design to the project and we were delighted to provide our experience and time to create this new garden within a park.
Visibility into the space was important but also to provide lots of different places to sit alone or within small groups and the new garden which opened in the summer has already been well-used.
