Blind Veterans UK Community Garden London
Hampton Court Palace
The members, volunteers and staff are an inspiring community that come together to ensure veterans recover their independence and discover a life beyond sight loss. Our garden for the Hampton Court Palace Flower Show for the charity reflects this sense of community, exploring many different aspects of what they do – bringing people together, supporting passive and active therapy, providing vital life skills and independence, offering learning, training and recreation opportunities.
Blind Veterans UK believe that no one who has served our country should battle blindness alone. They are here to support anyone who has served in the Armed Forces, or who has done National Service, and who is now living with significant sight loss.
The community garden was awarded a Royal Horticultural Society Gold Medal and Best Construction Award at the RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show and will be re-built at the charity’s Brighton Centre as a permanent garden to open in late 2017.
